Admiral Ossama Rabiee witnesses the launch of the first tourist yacht produced by the Suez Canal Company for Modern Boats
The new tourist yacht features a distinctive Sport Fisher man design and is equipped with fishing gear.
The Suez Canal Company for Modern Boats presents a new and ambitious vision to advance efforts to localize the maritime industry under the slogan "Made in Egypt"
In implementation of the directives of H. E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to localize the maritime industry, Admiral Ossama Rabiee, Chairman and Managing Director of the Suez Canal Authority, and Mr. Mostafa El-Dougishy, CEO of the Suez Canal Company for Modern Boats, witnessed the launch ceremony of a new tourist yacht, the first in a series of tourist yachts produced by the Suez Canal Company for Modern Boats, a partnership between the Suez Canal Authority and the South Red Sea Shipyard Co.
The yacht is 37 meters in length, with a beam of 8.2 meters, and weighing 135 tons. It features a distinctive Sport Fisher man design with 2600 hp MTU engines and consists of a master suite, four smaller rooms, and four crew cabins.
The yacht is equipped with two forward hydraulic units for operating a multi-purpose forward winch, as well as a stern hydraulic unit for operating a swimming platform.
Admiral Ossama Rabiee affirmed that the Suez Canal Company for Modern Boats is presenting a new and ambitious vision to advance efforts to localize the maritime industry under the slogan "Made in Egypt," with world-class quality that qualifies it for regional competition and international export.
The Chairman of the Authority added that work is progressing rapidly at the Suez Canal Company for Modern Boats to complete the fiberglass factories in the company's industrial zone in Safaga. This is being done in parallel with the commencement of several company-affiliated projects to build yachts and tour boats for tourism purposes.
On his part, Mr. Mostafa El-Dougishy, CEO of the Suez Canal Company for Modern Boats, pointed out that the company has begun work on several projects simultaneously to serve the maritime tourism sector.
He further added that the new tourist yacht features a unique design by the American Inc Fryco Yachts, with interior design by the renowned designer Georges Vafiadis. Also, construction is carried out under the supervision of RINA.
He also mentioned the construction of another 18-meter tourist yacht, with a fiberglass mold being prepared for the production of multiple versions once the factory becomes operational. Additionally, two 17-meter-long, 6-meter-wide cruise boats, each with a capacity of 15 passengers, are being built for the Suez Canal Authority. This is being done in parallel with the construction of the Nile Taxi, a 25-passenger vessel designed for Nile River tourism.
