Re: Sign on Crew

  • Must possess a valid seaman’s book.
  • Must possess a license of competency.
  • Hold an introduction letter from the ship-owner indicating the ship name, the port of arrival and the name of agent.
  • Hold a contract of employment.

Re: Sign off Crew

Ship-owner / Master must provide agent with the following :

  • Name
  • Rank
  • Destination
  • To state whether there is a valid and confirmed air ticket, or the ticket is to be booked by us.

VISA :
Entry visa for European and American citizens is not required, whereas visas for other nationalities can be granted on arrival at
Cairo airport. However, it’s recommended to obtain visas prior to departing their countries in order to avoid any delay.
For certain countries (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Philippine, Sri Lanka and Somalia) entry visa is required before arriving in Cairo.

Important Restrictions in Alexandria Port :
Please note that Far Eastern / African crew cannot board a ship raising a flag other than their nationality.
Masters / Officers are excluded from this rule if they provide translated license of competency.

Important Guidelines Concerning the Passengers on a Cargo Ship :
Women, men and children on board a ship who don’t have seaman books will be considered as passengers and must be added to the ship crew list. 

Suez Canal Authority Circular Regarding Indian Crew :
All Masters and ship owners must be aware of the newest instructions concerning the signing on formalities for Indian crew in Suez Canal area to be as follows :

  • Sufficient information and flight details about the crew intended to be signed on board ships passing Suez Canal must be sent to us 4 days prior to crew arrival.
  • Extra money will be paid to local Egyptian authorities for any additional services required to accomplish formalities. Any contravention to the above mentioned instructions will result in crew delay or possible detention
    at the airport.
